Chronic Illness/Pain Support

If you’re living with chronic illness/pain, you already know how far it can reach—your mood, energy, sleep, relationships, and sense of control. And when chronic illness/pain also brings depression, anxiety, stress, or feeling stuck, you deserve support that understands the whole picture—not just the pain.

In our practice, we offer caring, skills-based therapy to help you build practical tools for acceptance, coping, and self-care. Together, we’ll work toward more steadiness in the middle of pain, less fear and struggle, and more hope for the life you want.

What We Help With

We support people experiencing chronic pain alongside:

  • Depression (withdrawal, low motivation, hopelessness)

  • Anxiety (worry loops, fear of flare-ups, feeling on edge)

  • Stress & burnout from constantly “managing it all”

  • Rest and sleep difficulties due to tension, stress, or pain

  • Frustration and shame about trying so hard and still struggling

  • Trauma responses that may have developed from painful experiences, invalidation, or difficult healthcare encounters

Self-care challenges—knowing what to do during hard days, not only when symptoms feel manageable

How Therapy Works

(What to Expect)

You won’t have to “push through” alone. Sessions are collaborative, paced to your needs, and grounded in trauma-informed care.

You can expect help with:

  • Understanding the pain + stress connection—how thoughts, emotions, and nervous- system activation can interact with pain
Practicing mindfulness to change how you relate to sensations, emotions, and thoughts, without fighting them

  • Recognizing unhelpful patterns (CBT) that keep you trapped in cycles of fear, self- criticism, or overwhelm

  • Building acceptance skills (ACT so pain doesn’t automatically take over your day—or define your identity)

If chronic illness/pain has affected your mental health, your therapy can too—whole- person, compassionate, and focused on skills that support you in real life.
